Mackerel fishing

Fishing mackerel with troll is a part of Bohusläns heritage. In May the fish is approaching the coast water to play in the bays, and from June to September it is easy to catch it close to shore.

We go early in the morning so you can cook the catch for lunch. Fried mackerel is a delicacy for most west coast Swedes and it’s important to keep it cold from the capture until it reaches the frying pan. Also smoked mackerel is a pleasure to enjoy on a piece of local Hönö bread and some aioli.
